Abrasive Wheels

Course Aims:

To provide the students with an awareness of working with, and the hazards associated with, abrasive wheels.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the training session the students will be equipped with the following:

  • Knowledge of the hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels
  • Knowledge of the safety requirements for wheel and machine manufacturers
  • Ability to determine the essential requirements for the selection, and ordering, of grinding wheels
  • Knowledge of the regulations governing the supply and use of abrasive wheels
  • Knowledge of the codes of practice for the safe use of abrasive wheels

Course Syllabus:

Inherent dangers and hazards, common causes of injury, safety requirements, selection differences, grinding wheels, governing regulations, codes of practice.

Course Duration:

  • ½ Day

Assessment:

  • Continuous assessment by trainer

Certificate:

  • Safe use of Abrasive Wheels

Certificate Duration:

  • 3 years
