a) How much electricty will a solar PV generate in the UK? Solar PV panels will provide very generous amounts of electricity for most locations across the UK. As a general rule, for every 1kWp of solar panels installed (~ area of 7 SQM) approximately 800 - 1000 kWh per year will be generated.
Contact us if you would lke to find out how much electricity can be produced from a solar system for your property. If you provide us with a postcode, orientation (South, south east etc.) and inclination (eg. 35 degrees) we will mathematically model your situation and provide you with a solar yield and the amount of annual tax free income you can expect.
b) What grants and incentives are available for Solar PV panels? The Clean Energy Cashback Scheme, implemented 1st April 2010, is designed to encourage and reward householders who invest in renewable technology (including solar). The incentive provides a tax-free income for to 25 years based on the amount of electricity generated irrespective of if it is used or sold in to the grid. The tariff is 36.1 p / kWh for newbuild projects and 41.3 per kWh of electricity generated for retrofit installations. Estimated incomes from the scheme can be as high as 10% return on the initial costs of the solar technology. For more information on grants and incentives please read Support Document S2 found within the technical zone or contact us for more information.
d) Guarentees Amgen Renewables only use solar panels that have been accredited by the UK Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS). MCS accredited panels have been rigourously evaluated to ensure high levels of construction and performance. The solar panels typically come with a 5 year manufacturers warranty and a 25 year performance guarantee.
